PROFILE: MASTER THERESA ZAINO

                                                                                                

Born an “Air Force brat” at Fort Dix, New Jersey, Theresa Zaino spent some of her childhood in England and upstate New York. Her family settled in Palm Beach county Florida when her father retired from the United States Air Force.  In 1984,Theresa began her martial arts studies in the style of Kang Do Kwon Tae Kwon Do under the tutelage of future husband, Danny Zaino.  Theresa has remained dedicated to her martial arts training for the past twenty years. While committed to the GoJu-Ryu style, she also studied Tae Kwon Do and Thai boxing.

 

Throughout her training, Theresa has competed at martial arts events throughout Florida and on a national level.  In 1988, she helped her husband form the Florida Palm Coast Karate Events circuit.  In 2000, she helped organize their national team, “Team Pepsi.”  She operated a commercial martial arts school for 9 years specializing in children’s programs.  Today, she continues to assist Master Danny Zaino with the martial arts training of their three children and other team members as well as competing herself.
